A movie budgeted at $200 million -- the most expensive to be shot in Canada -- is to be filmed for at least three days in September in Kamloops, Cache Creek and Lytton.Farewell Atlantis, formerly known as 2012, is to star John Cusack and hit theatres in 2009.
Ronald Emmerich, who directed the spectacle event films Independence Day, Godzilla, The Day After Tomorrow, The Patriot and 10,000 B.C., reportedly has a budget of $200 million for the apocalyptic tale.
It's based on the ancient Mayan myth that the world will undergo a catastrophe on Dec. 21, 2012, when it will enter into a new spiritual age.
