Hunab Ku
Hunab Ku was the supreme creator God of the Maya. Hunab Ku represented the solar calendar, balanced forces, and perfection.
According to some early-colonial sources, Hunab Ku, meaning 'Sole God', was the main deity in the Yucatec Mayan pantheon. No images existed of Hunab Ku since he was considered to be without visible form. The concept may have been invented to satisfy the Spanish monks. Hunab Ku is, in any case, closely related to the indigenous creator god, Itzamna.
Ying Yang
In Chinese philosophy, yin and yang are generalized descriptions of the antitheses or mutual correlations in human perceptions of phenomena in the natural world, combining to create a unity of opposites in the theory of the Taiji.
Both of these ancient symbols are very similar, but were created in two different places in the world at different times, before anyone could travel continent to continent.
I thought it was interesting that these 2 symbols were so closely similar.
Too bad we focus on all of our differences, instead of focusing on all of our similarities.....
